If rare movie memorabilia has a name,
it must be "Indiana Jones".

During the 1980s there was an explosion of movie and
television merchandising. Popular films and TV shows capital-
ized on their success by launching hundreds of tie-in products,
most of which were aimed at children, and the 'Indiana Jones'

franchise was no exception. As soon as "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was
released in May of '81, stores were bombarded with Indy-related action
figures, board games, coloring books, and just about anything else
they could slap the logo on. The release of the two sequels
saw the introduction of even more merchandise.

Although Indiana Jones products were easy to find at the time,
they've since become rather hard to come by. Garage sales and flea
markets were once a good place to look, but now comic book shops
and toy shows seem to be their only outlet. A renewed interest in Indy
began in the late '90s, spawning a whole new line of products. While
they're not as widely distributed as their predecessors, they are
out there, you've just got to know where to look.
